We are pleased to invite you to join the Monday night St. Andrews Bible Study Group as we journey through Part Four of the Catechism of the Catholic Church on Christian Prayer.
Knowledge of the first three parts of the Catechism is not required to take this course.
The four parts of the Catechism teach us to believe in God, to celebrate God’s love, to live by God’s commandments, and to pray. As Professor Sean Innerst has written, “It is prayer that takes what might otherwise be a merely exterior expression of Catholic life and makes it interior. One can formally profess the Creed, act out one’s part in the liturgy, and behave in a manner consistent with Christian rectitude and still be interiorly a pagan! Prayer is what makes all the elements of Catholic life really Catholic.”
Each one-hour session of this ten-week course will begin with a short presentation followed by group discussion on the material presented and the Catechism homework reading, which averages eight pages per week.
The study begins on Monday, January 11th from 7:30-8:30 pm.
